Publicación del Instituto Nacional Electoral que en una línea del tiempo, da cuenta de la evolución legislativa y sus implicaciones en el registro de candidaturas en México, desde el establecimiento de cuotas hasta la paridad de género, identificando las rutas de escape empleadas por los partidos políticos y el aumento de mujeres en la conformación de la Cámara de Diputados.Asimismo, contiene una breve relatoría de las acciones emprendidas por el Instituto para garantizar el registro paritario de candidaturas a legislaturas federales durante el Proceso Electoral Federal 2014-2015 y del actuar de los partidos políticos nacionales para dar cumplimiento con esta disposición constitucional en los criterios de selección de candidaturas que emplearon para este primer ejercicio paritario.
Finalmente, da a conocer un diagnóstico sobre el impacto de las cuotas y la paridad de género proporcionando datos en tres aspectos: la distribución de mujeres y hombres en las candidaturas a diputaciones federales, el posicionamiento de las candidatas de mayoría relativa y el efecto de la paridad de género en las candidaturas en la conformación de las legislaturas en los procesos electorales federales 2009, 2012 y 2015.
Las investigaciones contendidas en este documento, fueron realizadas por especialistas en la materia a petición del Instituto, con la finalidad de contar con datos y estadísticas que contribuyan a la toma de decisiones, así como a la implementación e interpretación de políticas y normatividad en la materia.
