Reminder apps are boring. Squalk is different, it's fun, it's quirky, it's social.Squalk uses voice recordings as reminders, the reminder messages are sent to you by other members of the Squalk community - friends or complete strangers, you choose.
Squalk lets you set a reminder for the day and time you want in the same way you would with most other reminder apps. Then, when the reminder is due, an alarm is triggered and someone, anyone, a complete stranger, or a friend, will read the reminder to you. Or they might shout it at you, or even sing it to you. It’s up to them to decide how you’ll be told the reminder.
Join in the Squalk community by recording reminders for other people. Other people's public reminders are displayed on the home screen, so you can choose to record a message for anyone else’s reminder.
But why stick to just reminders? Get someone to squalk you encouragement to go to the gym after work for example, or get a squalker to recite a list of names you’re trying to learn for an exam.
Squalk makes reminders fun and social. Not only will you remember things, but you’ll remember them with a smile.
All reminders are recorded talking messages that are sent directly to your phone in the background, no phone calls or voice mails.
Squalk Reminders Permissions
Prevent device from sleeping - allows the app to prevent the device from going to sleepDisable your screen lock - allows the app to disable the keylock and any associated password security. for example, the phone disables the keylock when receiving an incoming phone call, then re-enables the keylock when the call is finished
Receive data from internet - allows apps to accept cloud to device messages sent by the app's service. using this service will incur data usage. malicious apps could cause excess data usage
Record audio - allows the app to record audio with the microphone. this permission allows the app to record audio at any time without your confirmation
Full network access - allows the app to create network sockets and use custom network protocols. the browser and other applications provide means to send data to the internet, so this permission is not required to send data to the internet
View network connections - allows the app to view information about network connections such as which networks exist and are connected
Control vibration - allows the app to control the vibrator
Run at startup - allows the app to have itself started as soon as the system has finished booting. this can make it take longer to start the device and allow the app to slow down the overall device by always running
